Bare Earth is a series of photographs documenting the transformation at play when what is deep under the surface of the earth has been exposed to the elements. Taken after the clear cutting and razing of the forest, stunning compositions of pigment and pattern are revealed by man inflicting order by mechanical means, and nature bringing chaos through elemental means. Creating patterns of ornate composition, the power of wind and water, and the digging, scraping and pounding of machines, alter the surface of the earth in unexpected and mysterious ways. The earth is alive and teeming with activity, even when it it stripped bare.
