The project is a musical re-voicing of the Passion narrative, told through a trinity of female perspectives—a Modern-Day American Woman, Mary Mother of Jesus, and the Feminine Voice of God. This triptych structure moves the story from a purely historical event to a lived experience that connects ancient tradition with modern struggles. Reframing a 2,000-year-old story into a personal, heart opening, and inclusive dialogue about suffering, authority, and identity.
Dawn Flores works a sort of magic with her art, illuminating some of the darkest corners of our cultural consciousness and revealing truths many do not want to accept. It’s a complex process but the results are well worth the effort.
